Absolute Beginner. The heart and soul of our studio, these classes are designed for students that have never used a sewing machine. They include all materials and the use of a sewing machine. Please note that due to time constraints students are not permitted to bring their own machine to Absolute Beginner classes. Email us if you’d like to schedule a 90-minute private lesson to learn how to use your personal machine.

Beginner. These classes are designed for students who already know how to sew a simple seam with backstitch at start and end. They include all materials and the use of a sewing machine. Please note that due to time constraints, students may bring their own machines ONLY if it includes a walking foot and the student knows how to thread it, change the needle, wind/change the bobbin, select a stitch, change the foot, and adjust tension. Students using one of our machines are not required to know these things. Email us if you’d like to schedule a 90-minute private lesson to learn how to use your personal machine.

Advanced Beginner. These classes are for students who can confidently sew a straight seam and a curved seam with a backstitch at the beginning and end and how to press with an iron. Some of these classes DO NOT include all materials (see individual class description for details) but do include the use of a machine. Students may bring their own machines ONLY if it includes a walking foot and the student knows how to thread it, change the needle, wind/change the bobbin, select a stitch, change the foot, and adjust tension.
